About Us
Paradiza is located in the old Custom House in historic downtown
Portsmouth, just one block from Market Square on the way to
Strawbery Banke. It has been in Portsmouth in one form or another
since the early 1990’s. In September 2005, an article appeared in the
Portsmouth paper indicating that Paradiza was about to close. On
October 18, 2005, just three weeks after reading that article, Gail
Licciardello purchased Paradiza. Having worked as an Occupational
Therapist for many years, the world of retail and the discovery of the
vibrant life in downtown Portsmouth were a fun and exciting change
for her.
Gail has added her touch and personality to the store. Gail is a
Gemini, and as such the need for constant change, fun, and diversity is
reflected in the variety and every changing inventory in the store.
Paradiza is a member of the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, Buy
Local, and one of the original members of the Scarecrows of the Port
Committee.
There are several part-time staff at Paradiza: Elaine, MaryAnn,
Donna and Dawn. Stop by and meet us. We are all looking forward
to seeing you at Paradiza!
